Hayhurst had an impressive start under Grayson some 12 months ago scoring against Swindon but this season has falled down the pecking order partly due to injury.
He recently featured int he FA Cup replay against Ipswich but looked out of sorts and will now join York for a 28 day spell along with other youngster Ben Davies who is also at the club on loan from Preston.
