Woeful First Half Costs Preston

North End went through the month of November unbeaten in the league but after a tough October more was expected in November. They struggled against Wolves and were very poor for the first half an hour against Burton on Saturday.

Vermijl was played ont he right wing with McGeady out on the left due to injuries to Pringle and Gallagher was also out. The widemen swapped wngs throughout the first half but both were off form.

In reality Preston should have been out of the game beore Irvine gave th visitors the lead. Burton headed against the bar from a corner and then forced a fine save out of Maxwell before they managed to score.

North End then sprung into life and just before the break managed to equalise. Cunningham made a dart down the left putting in a peach of a cross which the otherwise ineffective Robinson could not miss. It was not deserved.

The home team then dominated the second half after what must have been a stern team talk. There were chances but Preston could not convert which reflects an ineffective frontline for this division.

These were two points dropped along with a home draw a week earlier. Whilst Preston are comfortabley above the relegation zone at present, the missed opportunities mean Preston will once again fall short of the play off positions.
