Yet More Departures

After one youth team coach left the club without explanation last week, four mor key members of the North End coaching staff left Deepdale today. With David Kelly still on leave, first team coach Julian Darby, goalkeeping coach Pete Williams, physio Andy Balderstone and head of youth Glyn Salmon who were either brought in by Davies or worked closely under him have all handed in their notice.

This came as a surprise to new boss Simpson who discussed matters with them and assured them that he wished them to stay at the club in their current posts. It appears that the four who left along with Thelwall last week have given no reason for their sudden departures but it is assumed that they all have jobs lined up at Derby County.

It is believed that prior to the departures Preston and simpson in particular had been approached by several high profile candidates to fill the roles of coaches and physio but were dclined at the time due to the positions being unavavailable. These positions are now open and it is thought that they will be filled very shortly.
