SAVED FOR THE NATION: The Story of the FA Cup 1896 - 1910

Everything you ever wanted to know about the World's oldest and most loved Cup competition can be found in this exciting new exhibition at the National Football Museum.

An amazing collection of rarely seen objects help to tell the story of the Cup and explain why the competition inspires people throughout the world. The exhibition also displays, for the first time in 95 years, the FA Cup trophy used during FA Cup Finals between 1896 and 1910.

Summer Family Activities

Throughout the summer holidays there will also be a series of fun family activities to help children explore the history of the FA Cup, including arts and crafts sessions, storytelling, and gallery drama activities.

All the activities will be FREE of charge and are open to children and adults of all ages! Please note that children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Museum is open seven days a week throughout the summer holidays, Monday – Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm, and Sunday, 11 am – 5 pm.

Over the summer holidays the National Football Museum will be holding a series of exciting and creative family activities.

The activities will be taking place at the Museum, Monday to Friday from 24th July to 31st August 2006. All the activities will be FREE of charge and are open to children and adults of all ages! Please note that children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Arts and Crafts

Get creative in our football themed arts and crafts sessions!

Dates : Tuesday 25th July, Thursday 27th July, Tuesday 1st August, Thursday 3rd August, Thursday 10th August, Monday 14th August, Tuesday 22nd August and Monday 28th August.

Time : All sessions will run between 11am and 3 pm.

Storytelling

Share your football memories and hear tales of football past in our interactive storytelling sessions

Dates: Thursday 27th July, Thursday 3rd August, Thursday 17th August, Thursday 24th August, and Monday 28th August.

Time: Sessions will take place at 11am, 1 pm and 2 pm, and will last approximately 45 minutes.

Gallery Drama Activities

See actors make football history ‘come alive', or learn about the history of the FA Cup during our interactive play ‘There's Always Next Season'.

Dates: Wednesday 26th July, Friday 28th July, Wednesday 2nd August, Friday 4th August, Wednesday 9th August, Wednesday 16th August, Friday 18th August, Wednesday 23rd August and Friday 25th August.

Activity and Dressing Up Packs

Pick up an activity pack when you get to the Museum. The packs include, an old fashioned dressing – up football shirt, activity sheets to use in the new FA Cup exhibition and colouring templates and pencils.
