Bamber Bridge and Chorley Double Header
As per the norm, Preston kicked off their domestic based pre-season fixtures with a double header against local non-league outfits Bamber Bridge and Chorley.
At Iron Gate, the closely fought tie ended in a 1-0 Preston win thanks to a delicious chip from Richard Chaplow with just ten minutes to go.
Meanwhile at Victoria Park, Neil Mellor and new boy Barry Nicholson got a goal apiece to give Preston a 2-0 win.
