Preston were poor in the first half deciding to play a lot through the midfield instead of using the width. Gallagher had a pot shot just over before Lonergan made a fantastic save to keep the score even.
Joe Ledley started a fantastic move on the right before a ball into the middle found Fowler only five yards out with a free header. Cardiff went one nil up into the break.
Preston came out sharper in the second half and were soon on level terms as Cardiff cleared the ball fell on the volley to Davidson twenty five yards out who smashed home. Preston came forward but could not find the net. Mellor and Hawley came on for Agyemang and Gallagher who suffered an ankle injury.
Preston once again were sloppy from a set piece. They conceded a corner and left Folwer six yards out to head home with all the space in the world. Preston looked to be heading for defeat when they had a free kick in injury time. well worked set piece found Davidson once again twenty five yards home to smack homem past the stranded Oakes.
Preston remain in the bottom three facing two stiff home games against Bristol City and Southampton to see if they can climb up the table.
