Late Goals Cost Preston Points

When Irvine took over one of the main problems was that Preston were conceding too many late goals and despite looking like picking up a victory at QPR they managed to let slip by conceding two goals in the last few minutes.

Mellor carried on his recent good run by giving Preston the lead before Priskin doubled Preston's lead with a three yard tap in midway through the second half. It was an unusual situation for Preston to be in leading by two goals away from home and they could not hold on.

Old boy Gareth Ainsworth hit a rasping 25 yard shot in the 90th minute to get a goal back for the home side before Dextor Blackstock who scored against Preston last season at Loftus Road headed in an equaliser in the 93rd minute.

Preston now have four games left of the season knowing that they must try to be more consistent and clinical whilst trying to maintain their recent unbeaten run.
