Preston 2-2 Coventry- Match Report

Wroe denies Sky Blues

Preston midfielder Nicky Wroe struck on the hour mark to rescue a 2-2 draw against Coventry as their poor League One home form continued.

North End appeared to be on their way to a first home win in the league in 10 games when Graham Cummins broke the deadlock in the 30th minute.

However Coventry had other ideas and Leon Clarke pulled them level with half-time approaching, and a Chris Robertson own-goal put them in front before Wroe salvaged a point.

Preston almost went ahead after five minutes when Jack King rose to meet Wroe's corner but Steven Jennings cleared off the line.

However, the hosts did open the scoring when Cummins met Jeffrey Monakana's delivery at the far post - only for Coventry to equalise eight minutes later.

Franck Moussa tormented Paul Connolly before crossing for Clarke to chest down and slot home, and Robertson turned home Carl Baker's cross to give the Sky Blues the lead after 53 minutes.

Wroe drew Preston level on the hour, though, collecting King's knock-down to rifle home from six yards.
