Preston Win Away!!!

It was somewhat he case of after the lord mayor's show after Preston's season was in effect ended in the derby date defeat at Deepdale on Saturday but they managed to summon themselves for a performance against Doncaster on Easter Monday.

Irvine changed his frontmen as expected with Elliot and Parkin being replaced by Brown and Mellor. The change seemed to work for Irvine and the result will have pleased the travelling contingent.

Doncaster had a lot of the play int he first twenty minutes but it was Preston who took the lead. Wallace who had a poor game by his standards on Saturday whipped in a cross for Brown to head home. It was his fourth of an injury hit season and he has certainly been missed.

Moments later Preston hit the bar as Jones failed to convert another Wallace cross and Preston looked to be enjoying their day in the sunshine.

North End managed to double their lead wiht eighteen minutes remaining thanks to a change of personnel. Jon Parkin was thrown on for Chris Brown and withhis first touch he put Neil Mellor clean through who slotted home.

Mathmatically, Preston's season is still alive as Burnley lost away at Cardiff but realistically pride is all the Whites have to play for. Preston lie in eight on the same points as Swansea with an inferior goal difference, only four points behind Lancashire rivals Burnley who are in sixth.
