Seven Years And Counting

The last time Preston lost a league match at Deepdale on a Tuesday was back in February 2001 when they lost to Birmingham and last night another Midlands club came close to breaking that record run.

Wolves had an opportunity to go one up in the first minute but for a fantastic save from Andy Lonergan. The weather then took its' toll for the remainder of the half with driving wind and rain meaning both sides were restricted to long shots.

Wolves started with 5 in midfield but brough on the dangerous Keogh at half time alongide Ebans-Blake. His impact was felt soon after with Keogh placing a neat shot past Lonergan to give the visitors the lead.

North End then sparked into life with Chris Brown bundled over in the box and Callum Davidson hammering home the penalty. Preston pressed and were on the front foot when Jones found Whaley in space who smashed past the keeper to give North End all three points and the first time in over a year that the side have won three games in a row.
