Preston came away from their first visit to St Mary's with a well earned point. The draw means that preston are now 22 games unbeaten in the league which equals the record set by the Invincibles 125 years ago. The next league match will be a stiff test away at Reading to see if the record can be broken.

The game became mor eopen in the second half as Southampton hit the post throuch ex-Claret Chaplow. Nugent had Preston's best chance slotting the ball wide. Preston will be happyt with the point as they extend their lead over the chasing pack.
