Preston were put under pressure early on by the home side and it looked as though the inexperienced defence was going to buckle. Preston then went down to a soft goal as Liam Chilvers allowed Jay Boothroyd to pass and run into the box to blast left footed past Carlo nash at the near post.

The game then changed for the good as Pugh whipped in a corner which St Ledger inadvertedly passed to Nugent who volleyed home past the keeper.

Preston then strated to stroke the ball around and looked the more composed of the two sides. The second half saw Preston press from the off and a mistake by the home defence allowed Nugent to slot left footed past the keeper to give the away side the lead.

Preston controlled the game but with fifteen minutes left Wolves pressed for an equaliser making Nash work. In injury time the home side were caught short at the back allowing Whaley to run and shoot from distance past the keeper. Preston now have one week to recover before the next home game against QPR.
