After discussions between the Finney, family, the club, local council and police it was agreed to hold a civic funeral for Sir Tom Finney commencing at Preston Minster at 1pm on Thursday 27 February.
The cortege will pass Deeodale where Sir Tom mesmerised crwods who turned up in their thousands simply to watch him play. People are expected to line the streets in what will be the biggest funeral reception the city has held.
