"I had been telling the players all week that this was going to be a very scrappy game with the opposition fighting for their lives, and that's how it turned out," Davies said after the 3-2 win at Deepdale.
"Coventry have good players and made it very difficult for us. I knew it would be.
"The players showed great determination to hang on in there and get a very important three points."
