The centre back is set to leave Preston but it is just a case of timing. Davies is out of contract in the summer and it was alluded to earlier in the month that he was not going to sign a new deal to stay at the club.
Celtic appeared to be the destination of choice. Davies is entitled to agree a pre-contract deal with them and move for free in the summer but it appears that North End are trying to push through a deal now so that they can recoup some money for the defender.
No deal has been agreed yet but it is suggested that an agreement is close given the fast approaching transfer deadline.
