O’HANLON GETS JOB AT TRANMERE

The former Republic of Ireland ‘keeper was made redundant at PNE before the start pre-season, the club stating that they were refining their recruitment.

But a lot of PNE fans and associates of the club would put their hands up and admit they saw this a long time ago. Craig Brown was adamant that he would keep Kelham on when he started as manager. But he brought in Davies as coach and was then in the shadows.

All PNE fans must be delighted with this news about O’Hanlon. He was always a character in the dressing room, and was Assistant manager under David Moyes when they got into the Play-Off Final in 2001. He also took over as Caretaker Manager after David Moyes’ departure and had reasonable success.

Ray Mathias told the club’s website: " It’s great to have someone like Kelham working alongside me.

"He’s worked hard with the players in pre-season and he brings a great deal of coaching experience with him."
