Preston named an unchanged side with three up top although at times Robinson and Beckford were forced out wide. The game was controlled by North End with the visitors mostly playing on the break.

Johnson ran the show in midfield picking passes left right and centre as well as showing great control and ability. His goal was well taken with this being another shot from the edge of the box curling past the keeper.

Peterbrough will shout atthe fact that Huntington fouled an attacker when clean through on goal. The fact is that the foul happened out wide with a number of other defenders covering. Huntington was booked.

In the second half Preston dominated possession and whilst chances were not as readily available as on Saturday, it seemed that the home side were in cruise control.

Victory was secured when Gallagher crossed for Beckford to convert from close range. The striker did have a number of other opporuntities but did manage to get ont he score sheet.

A late rally by Swindon saw them win to remain two points behind the Whites although Preston have a game in hand on all clubs around them. Bristol City do not play in the league this weekend so Preston will be aiming to cut the gap on the leaders to 8 points.
