Preston Push On

The rotation system was used by Paul Simpson with Wilson coming in at right back with Soley keeping his place alongside Chilvers with St Ledger remaining on the bench.

Pergl was given his debut alongside Mckenna and Pugh in midfield with Whaley seemingly given a free role behind Nugent and the returning Dichio.

Preston did not hit top gear but looked comfortable with Pergl scoring from twenty five yards and soon after a good passing move allowed Dichio to slot home from twelve yards.

The away side caused little threat until Preston allowed them back into the game with Shackell pulling one back. Norwich poured forward with Preston looking edgy at the back. The home side held on for a vital three points which sees them jump to fourth in the table with a game in hand on most sides.
