Andre Green agreed to join Preston on a year long loan season prior to the start of the season. He came on as a substitute in the opening game of the season at Millwall.
Alex Neil likes to stockpile forward thinking players but not necessarily a frontman per se. Green joins Potts, Bodin and Barkhuizen for a starting slot out wide, Harrop and Maguire have also featured in wide positions.
The signing of another wide player is no surprise after Robinson left to join Sheffield United. Preston were linked with a loan move for Barker but with City wanting to sell it appears Alex Neil turned to Green.
The Villa player appears to be more direct and potentially quicker than others in the squad. He will add something to the squad and as shown at Villa can score goals which Preston sorely lack without Robinson.
Green only has 12 months of his contract left at Villa so he will be looking to impress whilst at Preston given that he will want to secure a cotnract somewhere from next year onwards.
