Safe Return

Cresswell will have anything but fond memories from last season’s clash against Bradford at the Bradford and Bingley stadium: he ended up unconscious and on a stretcher!

The PNE hero suffered from a ghastly late tackle by Uhlenbeek, which resulted in Cresswell colliding into the advertising stands. At the time it looked worse than it actually was, Uhleenbeek didn't even get booked as a result.

But Cresswell will admit he will be more determined to put that behind him. And scoring his first of the season will be his priority.

The Striker said: " You want to score in the first game, you want to score in every game, if you are not then it becomes harder and harder as each game comes along.
"Normally you get these dry spells in the middle of the season or towards the end but for me it has come at the beginning. I am not worried, though, because I am confident in my ability.
It is a long season, people pick up injuries and people will get their chances but as long as I am in the team I will give 100 per cent and everybody knows that"
