Crisis In Football
-

This was the email PSG recieved from the Football Fans Union this morning. We hope you will be happy to support the campaign to save the football league.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope you're well. Thanks very much for doing the consultation
questionnaire we sent out a couple of months ago - your feedback was
very helpful indeed. We are planning to launch a "consultation site"
outlining more details of the FFU, giving fans a chance to comment,
however, the alarming events with ITV Digital seem to have overtaken us.

In reaction to this we set up a campaign "Can the Commercials" at
http://www.the-ffu.com/itv to see how much support there would be for
widespread action such as a boycott of commercials on ITV. If the
campaign reaches a critical mass it can be publicised to gain maximum
exposure and support - putting pressure on Granada and Carlton to
re-think their actions. Time is short to mobilise opinion and maximise
media exposure of any fan action before the April 15th administration
deadline.

We posted the site before the bank holiday weekend and the response so
far has been very positive from both Nationwide and Premiership clubs.
98% of those registering would support 'Can the Commercials' with
particularly strong support from Sheffield Wednesday, West Brom, Hull,
Coventry, Blackpool and Liverpool fans. It would be great if you could
lend your support and spread the word so the campaign can build from
this base.

This isn't a launch of the FFU but an idea to see if some form of action
could be taken by fans themselves especially in key ITV regions. If you
have any comments/ suggestions they'd be greatly welcomed!

Best wishes,

Alex
