Tafazolli has played for Peterbrough in recent seasons but the centre back has not renewed his contract. It is believed that the player is seekign a challenge at a higher level and wishes to move up to the Championship.
Preston are amongst a number of clubs who are linked with the player. North End are looking at more experience int he squad and the 27 year old may fit the bill especially as a centre back who can assist Davies and Storey.
North End have yet to make an approach for any players this summer but it is clear that the club do like to get their business done early so activity could start soon.
