Ven Den Berg was targeted by Preston but when Liverpool enquired about Ben Davies North End needed to step up their pursuit for a defender. The 19 year old will stay at Preston until the end of the season.
At present it is unclear how the team will function with all these loan signings. Evans, Molumby, Cunningham, Iversen, Lindsay and now Van Den Berg will all compete for a starting place this weekend after completing loan deals this January.
